Overview

The Mortgage Society of Finland (Hypo), founded in 1860 and headquartered in Helsinki, is Finland's oldest private nationwide credit institution and the country's only lender specialising exclusively in housing finance. The mutual, member-owned Hypo Group — comprising Suomen Hypoteekkiyhdistys and its deposit-bank subsidiary Suomen AsuntoHypoPankki Oy — serves roughly 29,000 customers with residential mortgages, housing-secured loans, deposit accounts and housing-company financing.
